I listened to an out pouring of loss and anger."

Zambia & Congo: China's African Takeover

Zambia & Congo: China's African Takeover, is a documentary by journalist Aidan Hartley. In this film, he travels to Zambia and Congo to investigate the Chinese funded mining of copper and cobalt, and its effect on the African economy.

"Many miners said they earned barley enough to eat, though the price of copper has reached historic levels. They're saying that the chinese pay laid prices, that they lie to them about the purity of the yield that they sell them. The chinese were driving this back breaking work, but we were conspicuous about their absences, we went to find them."

"Many of the miners I had seen were children, tragically the extract of copper and cobalt depends heavily on the exploitation of child labor on a vast scale, all this for electrical cable and phone batteries."
